Penn State!

I'm not gonna lie....as soon as we found out I was pregnant, I was looking forward to the day I could dress my babies up in cute Penn State clothing.  Unfortunately, my alma mater has been scarred by scandal and lies during this past year.  You all know the tradition of saving the newspaper from the day your baby was born??  Well -- the headline on June 5, 2012 was JERRY SANDUSKY...needless to say, that paper went very quickly into the recycling bin.

It's broken my heart to see Penn State dragged through the mud for something that a terrible, terrible man did.  It's also sickening to realize I was on campus during some of his heinous actions.  However, it is heartening to see my alma mater staying calm and carrying on.  Seeing all those screaming fans, wearing white, cheering on the Nittany Lions is very healing.  The fact that the football team has a winning record isn't too shabby either.

Of course, Penn State means much more to me than just the football team.  I loved every minute of my time there and feel I received a fabulous education which has helped me become a successful choral director.  So...will the babies be raised in a Penn State family?  Of course.  But they will also have a mix of the Oregon Ducks thrown in there.
