Good-Bye Club 1920

Here I am sitting in our now empty living room blogging....I must say, this is one of my favorite blogs I've ever done!

Nine summers ago, Michael and I were dating (yes, we were living in sin) and purchased our home in Allentown.  We were planning on staying in that home for 3 years before buying something larger.  You all see how that plan worked out.

June of 2005 - we were in Jamaica for a wedding.  When we returned to Allentown, we moved into our new home!

Many, many things happened to Michael and me in this little home.  He finally proposed to me in December of 2006 in our living room.  It's such a great story that I need to include it on here!
So Mike and I always used to exchange our gifts a few days before Christmas because we were always traveling during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  I think I had finally given up hope of him ever proposing so was not expecting it.  I should have known something was up because I had made a yummy dinner of spaghetti and Mike wanted to exchange presents before we ate.  I was starving so I made him eat dinner first.  I noticed he wasn't eating very much but didn't think much of it.
So finally we began exchanging presents and got to the end of our pile.  I was slightly disappointed because I had asked for something from Tiffany's and had only received running clothes and a book.  Mike said, "There's one more present for you under the tree."  I instantly thought this was my gift in that little blue box.  I opened it up and found a damaged Tommy Hilfiger box.  I was like, "What is this piece of crap??  This is NOT a blue box from Tiffany's!"

So I opened it up and found a little Christmas stocking.  Still thinking I was going to find something from Tiffany's, I opened it up.

Inside I found a ribbon that I began to pull out of the stocking.

The ring was tied to the very end of the ribbon.

And of course, I said yes!  This led to us getting married in the Outer Banks in July of 2008.  Love these pictures from Mikey D of us practicing our wedding dance in our living room before heading south!

Love this picture of my mom.

We had two fur babies in our home long before we had the real babies....

We had our reveal party to find out the genders of our twins.  This was probably my last truly happy memory with my mother because soon after we found out her prognosis.

April - 2012

Michael's reaction to "It's a boy!"  Notice my look of terror!  Ha!

The babies then arrived on June 5, 2012 and you all know the rest.  This home was where we brought the twins home to 46 days after they were born...where my mother got to spend her last five months with us...where I said good-bye to my mother when my father took her back home when we knew there was nothing else we could do for her.  This house has been good to us and I will miss it.  However, Mike and I feel we have both made the best decision for our little family in moving onto a bigger house and a wonderful school district.  Catch you on the flip side!
