Fourth of July and Weekend at Bah-Bah's House

  Happy Birthday, USA!  We had lots of fun celebrating the "high holiday" at Uncle Matty's house.  He said, and I agree, that this party has taken on a whole new vibe since children have been introduced!

 Per tradition, the twinjas each made Uncle Matty a patriotic piece of work in celebration of his favorite holiday of the year.  I love how these turned out.  The twins created the following pieces at different times away from each other.  I gave them the exact same materials and directions and their take on the project was so different and so wonderful!

 They were instructed to paint fireworks.  Allie's rendition....

 They were very excited to be at Uncle Matty's for the party....

The twins got a little worn out with 4th of July fun and decided to retire to Uncle Matty's bedroom to watch some television.  When the fireworks started I asked if they wanted to watch them and I got a unison, "No!"  People - I had to beg my children to come watch the fireworks.  There is something wrong here.  When they finally did come in it was worth it!

We opted to watch the show from inside the house since we're not crazy about all the "booms".

 We headed north to Bah-Bah's house for the annual Fiske Family Reunion the weekend after the 4th.  Allie and Cameron didn't know we were going until the morning of our departure.  I was in the shower and Cameron came bursting into the bathroom running in circles and doing his happy dance.  When I asked him what was going on he excitedly yelled, "We're going to Bah-Bah's house!!!!"
