Mary Poppins

I can remember going to the musicals at Wyalusing every year of my childhood.  I loved them.  I also loved being in musicals when I was in middle and high school.  And now, it has been so wonderful taking the twins to plays and musicals.  So when Beth, the director at Nazareth, asked if we wanted to be in their "Mary Poppins" I said YES YES YES!
Now the twins are pretty shy when it comes to new experiences.  Cameron especially does not like to be around a lot of people or in the middle of a chaotic situation.  So I was a bit apprehensive going into it.  Especially when Cam did not want to try his costume on (only took a bit of persuading) and then asked me, "Do we have to act when we go out there?"  When I explained that yes, we were going to act, but we were going to act like a family walking through a park he said,"Oh, we know how to do that!"  I then saw the excitement begin to take over.
We headed up to Nazareth the week prior to opening night to learn our part.  The students were so great and very helpful in getting us sized up for our costumes!

Cam's face says it all....
Once the costumes fit us properly, we were a bit more excited to be there...

We got our part all learned and headed home.  This then led to 2 straight days of watching "Mary Poppins" on repeat....but it did give me the opportunity to practice curling Allie's hair!

And then came opening night.  The twins were super excited when I picked them up from school.  To make it a bit more exciting, Daddy had just left on his annual golf trip so I said, "We're headed to the Coop for dinner!"

Upon arriving at Nazareth, we headed back stage and got into our costumes.  The twins really liked seeing all the big kids putting the final touches on their hair and costumes!

We loved the statue!

Mary!
Izzy's best line: "Well if that doesn't take the blooming biscuit!"
The lights then flickered and it was showtime!  We were set to go on about 15 minutes into the first act so we got comfy on the floor.  The twins enjoyed listening to the singers on stage and when we heard the audience clap for the first time, Cam said, "There's a lot of people out there!"  We then headed backstage to prepare for our grand entrance.  We were definitely pushed around a bit (Allie said someone stepped on her foot but she was ok) as set pieces were taken off stage and people exited and entered, but they took it all in stride.  And then IT WAS TIME!

After our big moment, we took some pictures in the lovely lobby!

We enjoyed running around during intermission...

Bah-Bah came down the same weekend for a visit so we headed back to Nazareth just to sit and watch "Mary Poppins" with him!

The next morning we headed to the park!

Best friends forever!
Loved hanging out with Bah-Bah!

My little model!

The creek was super fun because of all the rain we've had lately!
First time riding our bikes at the park!
First time finding some Lehigh Valley Rocks!!  Yeah!

Bah-Bah has been teaching us all about feeding and tracking deer.  Our backyard is turning into a bit of a sanctuary!

Heading out with the salt lick!

Teaching us the ways of tracking deer!

Wow!!

They loved us when there was snow on the ground!

Nazareth does their show 2 weekends in a row so we went back yesterday to do our part one more time.  We were very excited because Daddy got to come along and see us!

LOVED her kite dress!!!  Just perfect!

Let's go fly a kite!

And that's a wrap!
