Our Vow Renewal

 I absolutely love this post.  The stars aligned a few weeks ago when our friend and photographer, Shawn Henfling, ended up being in the Outer Banks the same exact week as us.  We had already planned to celebrate our 10 year anniversary with a vow renewal, and now we knew we'd have some really fantastic pictures to remember this great day.  HUGE shout out to Captured Chaos Photography for all of these wonderful pictures.  Also shout out to DUANE COCHRAN who was our photographer 10 years ago....

 We started out our day with a family shoot.  This was something that Gammy really wanted to have done while we were all there together.  We're so thankful Shawn was there to capture these great pictures of our family!

This was kind of nerve wracking...we never knew what kind of wave was coming behind us.  We must really trust Shawn!

 We then did a quick costume change and Shawn took some candids on the beach!

 He THEN came back that evening to capture all of the moments of our vow renewal.

Of course I had to make a cake!

These are the same flowers from 10 years ago.  After our house fire, the company we had hired to clean our house out insisted I throw these away because they thought they would be stained and stinky.  I told them no way!  So glad I opted to keep them!

10 years ago -- this was our set-up for the sand ceremony.....

And here is our set-up for the vow renewal.  The two heart-shaped vases survived the fire but the middle vase did not.  We were excited to do this again so we could replace the middle vase!

We were so happy that Mike's aunt and uncle and their children and grand-children could attend our vow renewal.

 So, so thankful for all of these memories and pictures of loved ones -- both those still here with us (and now 10 years older!) and also those who are no longer with us.  Makes my heart happy.
