The Before and After

Many of you know, we live in a very small house.  When we found out we were having twins, we had to start getting creative with the space we were living in.  At first, we were going to put the nursery in the third bedroom -- keep in mind this is more of an office.  After some thought, we quickly realized that just wouldn't work.  We then decided to try to fit the bed from our guest bedroom into the office.  Michael thought, "No way!"  I thought otherwise.  Late one night, we decided to try to move the bed into the tiny office.  Michael took the bed apart and then reassembled it in what would hopefully be our new guest bedroom.  After realizing he put the bed together backwards, and then realized the room was too small to spin it, he had to take it all apart again and put it together the correct way.  All was going really well until we tried to close the door.  You got it - door would not close.  We needed about 1 more millimeter of room for the door to close.  I didn't think it was a big deal...Michael had a few choice words for the door.  In a flash of brilliance, Michael realized if we raised the bed just a little, the door would perfectly fit through a groove in the bed frame.  All was right again in the Rocchi world.

THE GROOVE!

Now onto the fun part of changing our old guest bedroom into a cozy nursery for the twins.  With some help from Matty Dub, the carpet was easily taken out in a day.  This led to staining the floor, choosing colors and design for the walls (thanks to Frankie and Matty Dub!), assembling the cribs, and moving the furniture in.  Michael had fun designing name plaques for each twin.  He is especially proud of Cameron's -- he chose different sports teams logos to spell out his name.

Here are a few pictures of the twin's headway with their weight gain.  I guess you could label these as before and after as well!

  1. Michael is clearly the man. But the Orioles for the 'O' in Cameron? What happened to the ducks, Mike?
