Me Candy?

Happy Halloween everyone!  The twinjas had a really fun holiday...and no, I did not dress them up as twinjas.  Perhaps next year!
I did however make some applesauce to give to our new neighbors.  I thought it was a nice way to say how excited we are to be in this neighborhood!

The weekend started out with trick-or-treating last night in our new neighborhood.  We first made a quick trip over to see our neighbor, Terri Nair.  Terri and I go way back -- I met her when I began my first teaching job at Southern Lehigh in 2004.  Her daughter, Raell, was in my choir and I gave her voice lessons.  Next, her daughter, Janissa, was one of my private piano students.  Terri is from Danville which is where I student taught and also where my senior year college roommate, Liz, currently lives.  AND - Terri's niece is Liz's next door neighbor and Terri's great-niece and Liz's daughter are friends.  Confused yet?  So -- to top it all off, our new home is about a mile from her and her husband, Suresh's home.  What a small world!
So, like I was saying, we stopped over at Terri's house to start this candy fueled holiday off.  We opted to start off our evening in our PSU garb.

We then headed back to Susan Road to go over to our neighbor's home, the Mikovich's.  We were going to have a pizza party and then head out trick-or-treating with their son, Dylan.  Now, people.  If you have been following this blog, you may have noticed that Cameron is a bit more stubborn when it comes to doing things that I would like him to do.  I had gotten the twins' costumes about a month ago and have spent the last month trying to get the twins to put these said costumes on.  Allie had put her costume on several times and was excited to put it on again.  Cameron was a different story.  He had put his costume on once a few weeks ago, but screamed and cried the whole time.  We took a step in the right direction when he tried Allie's costume on last weekend and I had a fleeting idea of having Cam wear Allie's costume but Allie was not into that option.  So I was fully prepared to accept the fact that Cam was not going to wear his super-cute costume.  I don't know what it was...maybe seeing his sister put her costume on, seeing Dylan in his costume, or Greg saying, "Only dragons are allowed to get candy."  Whatever it was, Cam walked over to Michael and said "Me on?"  And on it went!!!

Allie says, "I love being a hop-hop!"

Cam says, "Me candy?"
Best group shot we got....

Yes, I said, "I'll give you candy if you put your costume on."  And it worked!

Cameron says, "I'll keep this costume on as long as you keep the candy coming."
"You hear that woman?  Keep the candy coming and nobody gets hurt."
These little tails just kill me!

Double fisting...

Costume still on...candy still in hand...

"Yup...keep it coming!"
Walking up to a house!  So brave!

"You snooze, you lose, Leo.  I got all the good stuff!"

"Yea, Leo.  Allie doesn't mess around when it comes to candy!"

"I want this full by the end of the night!"

"I love trick-or-treating."

"No, really.  This is my favorite night ever."

"And I really love roasting marshmallows!"

Dylan says, "Happy Halloween!"

Last costume standing....

And finally, we headed over to Barbe Abel's house tonight to hang out with her grandkids during Nazareth's trick-or-treat.  We did this last year and the twins had a lot of fun!

The return of the hop-hop....

and dragon.
Yes, I made sure the twins brushed their teeth really well after their second sugar fest of the weekend!

Happy Halloween!
