For those of you who read the post from yesterday, you knew that we were hosting a cookie exchange party today. I had high hopes for this party and I'm happy to report that it went pretty much exactly how I hoped it would!
We had Mike's parents and sister and brother-in-law, Uncle Matty and Aunt Biz, Katie and Greg and Dylan, and Granville over for the party. Thankfully, Uncle Matty came early so we had a chance to run through our duets. I have not had this much fun in a long time -- there's just something so fun about sitting down and playing piano with a friend. Especially a friend who adds random hand clapping to Feliz Navidad and mooing to Away in the Manger. I have not laughed that hard in a long time!!! Thanks Matty for being such a special friend -- I truly am so glad to have you in the Rocc Flock's lives!
So we were all ready when everyone else came. As mentioned in the previous post, Granville was a percussion teacher for 40 years and can also play the harmonica. I was so happy when he came in with both the harmonica and a whole bunch of his music. We were ready to rock!
First up, Matt and my rendition of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Notice the FULL glass of wine. We played this again later in the evening and both agreed it went much better after that glass was empty! Ha!
This was so much fun!!!!
My handsome little man.
The kids were so good!
And made a huuuuge mess!!! But that's ok - it kept them busy so I could play piano!
Time for the cookie exchange! Yum yum!
Allie joined in for our last sing-a-long!
What a special evening. I'm pretty sure Granville had a great time and I know I did. It truly was the best Christmas party ever!!!
