The twins and I just enjoyed 4 days full of sunburns and bug bites as well as pool time, boat time, lots of laughs and lots of time being together. Poor Michael is FINALLY done with school so unfortunately wasn't able to join us for this trip up north.
We arrived on Saturday to Bah-Bah's house and went off to find him. He told us he'd be back over the hill working in his field...and that's where we found him!
We knew if we found Shorty, we'd find my dad!
Farming with a bull dozer?!?!
We spent a lot of time at what my dad calls "Timber's Retreat". My dad has become really good friends with a family who lives over the hill (yes, there are a lot of hills around my dad's house!) They are GREAT people and help keep an eye on my dad which I very much appreciate. My dad's new boat is at the pond right by their house - it's a beautiful spot!
Hard to see but my dad had hats made for the twins -- Cam's says "Captain Cam" and Allie's says "1st Mate Allie".
It was a beautiful day!
Love it!
The twins loved driving the boat!
There she is!
We enjoyed spending time with Timber and Lisa's family!
We have a country boy in the making!
Look at that smile!
Shorty likes the boat! Real quick story about Short-Dog. I was over on the shore with Shorty at one point and my dad was out in the boat. Shorty decided to jump into the pond and begin swimming towards my dad. We were all shocked that he did this because as you can see, he's not the most active dog. He got about 10 feet out and decided my dad was a bit too far out so he pulled a U-turn and came back to shore!
We decided to real quick head back to the pool to get a tube to see if the pontoon boat could handle pulling someone.....and it can!
Quick visit to Timber and Lisa's house so Cam could hold a chicken!
Deer sighting!
And time for the pool!
The twins enjoyed spending time with their Stanton cousins.
Allie and Lizzie racing!
Found this picture of me and Jason....MANY hours were spent in Grandma Carr's pool!
All the kids!
We felt very safe with our 2 lifeguards on duty!
Gator ridin' at night is the best time!
Here is a picture from a very long time ago of my childhood home.
The next few days it was just the twins and me while dad was at work. It's always very quiet around the house when it's just us. I find myself oftentimes imagining what it would be like if my mom were here....but I try not to dwell on it -- we're too busy enjoying her beautiful pool to stay sad for long!
Quick visit to Great-Grandpa Carr...
We went strawberry picking at Ahern's Farm.
Working hard!
YUM YUM!
Random slow motion video....
I stopped into see my Stanton grandparents as well as Grandma Carr's headstones. It's ironic that they are buried in the same cemetery and just a few rows apart!
