This Christmas was a bit different than past ones....Mike has been battling a nasty sinus infection for a few weeks and I have been very stressed at work. I feel like we didn't get to enjoy the month of December as much as we have in the past. However, we definitely tried to pack as much love and family time into the past few days as possible!
Wanted to record our Christmas card for the year....per tradition, we like to feature artwork from the twins. This year it was Allie's turn!
We'll start out with a few pictures from the twins performing in the Christmas Eve service at church. They did a great job!
Peek-a-boo!
Waiting for the service to start!
Then we headed back home for a quick photo shoot...
Love my baby girl...
This fills my heart.
The reaction I got when I said, "Open your eyes, Bah-Bah!"
Time for dinner!
Selfie-stick!
Then it was time for their Christmas Even boxes...yes, those are nuts in there. The twins had seen "The Nutcracker" a few weeks ago and wanted to see if our nutcrackers could actually crack nuts!
Let's give it a try!
Success! And the twins thought the nuts were yummy!
Annual Christmas ornaments....
Minnie Mouse!
R2-D2!
Mike made the twins coupon books for their boxes. They each got a coupon for things like dinner at the Coop, ice cream at The Inside Scoop, sleep with Mommy. Pretty fun!
Daddy took the twins shopping individually to buy each other gifts. We decided they could give each other their gifts on Christmas Eve...
Allie really wanted to give Bah-Bah his present that she had made him...

And then it was bedtime.....
And a few hours later, Cameron came in first. He laid in bed with me for a few minutes and I asked if he wanted to go out. He instantly said, "YES!!" At just that moment, Allie came sneaking in. Off we went!
Santa came!
Cameron was the same as usually....very methodical and focused. As he opened each present, he stacked them perfectly in a pile.
Allie would open a present and then want to give a present to someone. Then she would open a present and want to see what Cam had opened. Then open another present...
We realized this was Rhys' first Christmas. She loved it!
Cam and I made a picture of Panther for Bah-Bah.
Lookin' good, Daddy Claus.
Then the twins got busy playing with all their new toys!
The metal detector was a big hit!
Cameron got these for me...he said, "We can use these in the kitchen when we're cooking together."
These were fun presents!! Light-up shoes!
We then had a bit of time off just to relax and enjoy being together....
We headed out and about to visit family....
Gammy and Poppy's house! Allie got a Polaroid Camera from Santa and is enjoying putting the pictures all together in a book.
Cameron is LEGO crazy right now!
Allie made this ornament for Poppy!
Pick-Up Sticks from Gammy!
This gift was a "hit" from Gammy! Ha!
Back home for a bit...
This is my new best friend....the Robot Vacuum, not the cat. :)
We had are annual Friendsmas get together!
We headed north to my dad's and visited Mrs. Dibble along the way. She gave the twins a balloon animal kit for Christmas. Daddy did a pretty good job!
We visited my mom. I've been really missing her the last few weeks and asked her to send me a sign. I used to see ladybugs and feathers all the time but haven't seen any recently. We went over to my mom's headstone and there was a ladybug crawling on the angel. That was a very nice thing to see.
We brought the metal detector north with us. I remember my mom telling me that she and her siblings used to play around this tree. I thought maybe we'd find some leftover treasures!
No luck!
We visited Great-Grandpa Carr...
This morning we had a beautiful sunrise at my dad's. December 29th marks 6 years since the passing of my sweet mother.
We visited our Stanton cousins!
Made a stop of our friend's farm!
Allie got just a bit overwhelmed with all the animals! She did a good job though!
She loved the bunny!
Cameron was in his glory!
We then tried another location with our metal detector....
Success!!! Cam found an old hammer!
In closing, this Christmas was a bit easier for me than the last five. The twins bring so much laughter and magic to our lives and I'm thankful every day for them and Michael. This picture popped up in my Facebook memories a few days ago. Missing my mom, Grandma Carr, and Molly but thankful for the friends and family we have to make memories with! The twins are certainly loved!
