Allie is working on her Family Story Badge and we thought it would be fun to record her work here!
We decided to start with "Know where your family is from".
First up, we used Google Earth to check out Donegal, Ireland. This is where Allie's Maternal Great-Grandmother is from. We called Gammy (Allie's Grandmother) to talk to her about how her mom used to tend the Fanad Lighthouse. It was really neat to hear Gammy talk about this and have Mike and Allie try to locate exactly where Allie's Great-Grandmother grew up.

Next we traveled to Italy. Allie's paternal great-grandfather was born in Philadelphia but taken to Italy as a child to live in a town called Fiugni.
Allie also decided to make a family tree. She decided to write the names in of each family member and where they were from.
Allie knew just the thing that she wanted to use for "Find an Object". We visited her maternal Great-Grandfather a few weeks ago. He lives in Wilmot Township in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Allie and her brother went upstairs with their father to do some exploring. They went into Grandma Carr's knitting room. Grandma Carr passed away in 2016 when the twins were 4 years old. Allie said there were shelves with all her bowling trophies displayed and Allie saw this really silly one. She saw a lady holding her foot like she just stubbed her toe. But instead, Allie realized she had dropped a bowling ball on her foot. Allie brought it down and showed Grandpa Carr and he said, "That's Grandma Carr's last place trophy. Someone has to finish in last place - guess it was Grandma!" He told Allie to bring the trophy home. What a fun thing to have to remember her great-grandmother with!
