Ah, August has arrived. This summer was been wonderful...a great mix of traveling, being lazy, completing home projects, spending time with friends and family..... But good things must always come to an end!
We finally have caterpillars again. A friend of our neighbor stopped over to say hello - she is an avid monarch butterfly lover and mentioned coming back to release monarchs she had raised. It was really fun seeing her butterflies released in our yard - they loved the butterfly bush and peach tree!
I'm currently working on getting my grandparent's home videos placed into my YouTube video. I'm always out to capture our memories as well - shot this random video...just as hanging out in the living room!
The kids came to school with me one day to get the piano lab all set up. They were great helpers - and even posed for this final picture! Can you make out what's happening in the background???
We had a great visit with the Pitcavages - Knoebels is always a good time!
Very first ride was the Impulse roller coaster...I was terrified....Jack was excited...Cam was cool as a cucumber.
The dads....I told them to do something funny (they were soaked from the log flume) and this is what I got!!
Onward to rides that I loved as a kid....and would definitely not do well on as an adult!
The older kiddos then asked for the Sploosh. And proceeded to get soaked on this three times in a row. By the end, we were wringing out their clothes!
Soaked and smiling!
Onto the train - hoping to dry the kids out a bit!
Perfect picture to end a perfect day!
A and C hosted a Lemonade Stand again this year. They decided to help the Tamarins and Red Pandas through the World Wildlife Fund. They met their goal and adopted these adorable stuffies!
Love seeing the creations the kiddos make....this was built by Cam.
One day we were super bored...I had put together a "We are bored" jar and the kids pulled out "Do an Escape Room". Because Daddy is super creative, he did just that!
Ah, correction...Daddy built the "Escape Garage"!
Giving instructions before we enter....
Receiving the only help they would get!
"You may begin."
On the sheet of paper they were given, Michael had drawn something that resembled tubes....this led to their first clue!
The golf balls had to be arranged in a certain order to find their next clue.
Off to the freezer!
There was a pin taped to this stick.....
"What can we pop around here....how about that balloon?!?!?"
"1, 2, 3, POP!" Clues came flying out!
They had to put the paper back together to spell BUCKET!
They located the can...and started shooting!
Michael had tethered the guns to the garbage can to make this more of a challenge. After some experimentation, the twins realized they had to go down on one knee in order to get the angle of the bullet correct.
Another popsicle stick was inside the can! We're getting close now!
This was "your only way to exit the garage!!"
The sticks spelled out the word "SHED". Allie saw these scissors locked into our bike lock system...and the password was SHED!
What could the scissors be for???? Hmm...why is there a key up there?!??!
Allie cut the thread and down came the key!
Would the key work to unlock the chain to release them from the Escape Room?!??!
SUCCESS! What will be their prize for escaping?!?!?
A HUG FROM DADDY!!!
So much fun.....
Onward with more of our summer fun....
My hibiscus are once again beautiful.
Everyone has been so busy that the Rocchis haven't had time to celebrate birthday's all together. So we celebrated the twins/Michael/Auntie E all on the same day!
