On Saturday, August 17th, we had a small group of people visit my mother's headstone. We each laid wild Brown-Eyed Susan's on her headstone and then walked the 1.7 mile "block" my mom walked almost every day of her life. And of course, picked up garbage along the way! My mom would have been 63 years old today and we all miss her more than words can say.
After our walk, we headed back to my Dad's house and had a great lunch featuring my Dad's world famous Bar-B-Q chicken! I then got to hear some really great stories about my mom. If there is any silver lining in having to lose my mom so early, I would say it has given me the chance to get closer to my Grandma and Grandpa Carr. I loved hearing them talk about stories of my mom (and other things that my Grandfather said he'd get arrested for if the stories got out!). I also have realized that my mom's great sense of humor came from her parents -- those two are so funny!
We then all piled onto a wagon for a hayride, courtesy of Grandpa Stanton! It was another beautiful day in the Endless Mountains!

Thank you to everyone who came to remember my mom this weekend. A special thank you to my Allentown friends: Biz, Matt, Steph, Mikey, and Maggie. You guys are great. And of course, thank you to my dad and Michael for everthing.
