For anyone who has been following my Facebook messages, we had a crazy day on Friday, May 2nd. Our home has been on the market for about 2 and 1/2 months. Finally, after 24+ showings, we got an offer Thursday night. It wasn't the best offer so we were planning on countering it Friday morning. However, Friday brought Dale into our lives. Mike and I had both taken the day off to take the twins to the Please Touch Museum in Philly, so we just happened to be home when this man randomly decided to check out our property. I was in the hallway and heard someone talking to Rudy in the driveway. I overheard him saying how he really liked the fenced in yard. I yelled down to Michael to get out there and talk to him! Thirty minutes later, after a private showing of our home, Dale was rushing home to get his prequalification paperwork in order and to put in a bid! This was the first example of the stars aligning - if Rudy hadn't been in the driveway, Dale never would have stopped. And if we hadn't taken the day off, we wouldn't have been there to show Dale the house....weird!
We then had to rush over to DLP Realty to put an offer in on a house that we were very interested in. As our realtor came in with the counter-offer paperwork, we told him about Dale. However, we had failed to get any contact info for Dale or his realtor. Michael remembered Dale saying his realtor's name was Tracey and that he was based in the Poconos. Hello, Google! After a quick search, I left a message on Tracey's voice mail. He then calls me back...after a few questions, I had in fact found the correct person! After a quick conversation with our realtor, we knew Dale was the real deal. The timing of this was just about perfect in that we could then make our offer on a house HOME SETTLEMENT CONTINGENT instead of HOME SALE CONTINGENT...thank you, Dale! And I think thank you, Mom. Too many things came into alignment to make all of this happen. If we in fact get the house on Wild Cherry, this is going to be a pretty great story!
Because Friday morning was so crazy, we ended up pushing our visit to Please Touch to Saturday -- which was my birthday! Enjoy!
