Make Every Day Earth Day!

When I asked the twins if they'd like to do our Earth Day scavenger hunt yesterday, Allie replied, "But it's not Earth Day!" To which I replied, "Every day is Earth Day!!"

We did head out last weekend to pick up garbage along a road near our house.  The twins enjoy doing this and we always talk about how Grandma Stanton used to keep "the block" garbage free for many, many years!
It's a beautiful day!

Let's do this!

"Why do people throw their garbage out their windows?  This is gross!"

Onward!

Allie helped a bit....

...and then decided to take a break!

Cam was very focused!

Allie was focused on starting her base tan.
I wanted to also do an Earth Day Scavenger hunt but there wasn't enough time to fit to fit it in last weekend.  However, yesterday was a very nice day for it!  We headed over to Monacacy Park in Bethlehem to begin the search!

Cam says, "Let's get this thing started!"

"Grass!  Check!"

"Trees!  Check!"

"Mommy - we need to find a spider and a worm!"

"Dirt!  Check!"

Allie had her binoculars at the ready to help her spot a bird!

Looking for the elusive spiders and worms....

"Maybe spiders and worms are this way??"

"Maybe in here??"

Daddy spotted some spider webs...

....and upon further investigation....

...we found a spider!

Check it off!

Please note the knife on the ground...no worries - this was ours!  You never can be too careful when you're tooling around in Bethlehem!

Onward!

Digging for worms....

Allie is working on perfecting the art of blowing dandelions!

She'll keep practicing!

Cameron actually ended up finding a little baby worm inside of a tree -- success!

We decided to do a bit of Geocaching - we found a bunch!

We also found some ducks!

Another cache!

Cam decided to take the road less traveled by...

....and ended up here!

This park is so beautiful!

All done! Except for the bees and butterflies....maybe too early??

Treated ourselves to some Inside Scoop after the hunt - were excited to find some Lehigh Valley Rocks!

Saturday was also a fun and eventful day for the Rocc Flock.  We checked out the Trucks and More day at the Allentown Fairgrounds.  Both twins got fitted for a free bike helmet!  We're getting geared up for summertime!
Cam loved the crane - we did it twice!

Allie liked the army truck..and the Marine!

The helicopter was awesome!

Oh, boy....this was VERY loud!
We also went to Flint Hill Farm which is right in Coopersburg.  We've been here before and the twins always enjoy it.

Cam fell in love with these little guys.  We're hoping to have him come to Flint Hill's summer camp so we can learn how to be a farmer!

The pig pen!

Allie on the other hand will be heading to an art camp this summer...she was NOT impressed with these pigs!

Very interesting watching a man put shoes on horses!
Cam was in his glory!

Allie enjoyed it too...but really liked this part!

The hayride (pictured behind us) was really fun!

Allie enjoyed this part because we got "to go fast!"

Cam loved every second and can't wait to go back!
Ha!  Didn't know Daddy snapped this picture....we play hard and nap even harder!
Best buds....come on summer!
