Bah-Bah Does the Big Apple!

YEAH!  We did it!  I had decided to give Bah-Bah a trip to NYC to see The Lion King as a Christmas present.  Mike said he would never do it....well, 3 months later, it was a success!!

The last time I saw the Lion King was in 2011 -- my mom, Lily, and Joanne all went into the city to see it.  We recently found my mom's old camera and found some really great pictures on the camera card...some of which were from that trip!

Ferris wheel ride in the Toys 'R Us!  This was our tradition!

Fast forward 7 years....and here we go!

First off -- Shorty spent a lovely day with a good friend of mine so we didn't have to worry about him!

Almost there!

There it is!!  It was so fun seeing the twins getting more and more excited the closer we got to the city!

The Lincoln Tunnel was especially exciting...I told the twins how Grandma Stanton did NOT enjoy the ride through the tunnel!

Into the city we go!

First stop was Ellen's Stardust Diner!

Such a fun spot!

The milkshakes were a big hit!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture!

It was SO cool to see Katelyn Lauria, a former student of mine, singing her heart out!

Cruising around Times Square....

Checking out the skyscrapers....totally staged!

We did a bit of shopping....

SHOWTIME!

On a whim we decided to try out this mode of transportation!

Waiting for the bus...being silly!

Bus ride home....exhausted!

Reunited!

All in all, it was a great day.  My dad found 2 pennies on the sidewalk within minutes of us getting to NYC.  I told him they were pennies from heaven...and he said, "Find a penny pick it up; all day long you'll have good luck."  I'm pretty sure mom was with us -- and brought us lots of good luck on this St. Patrick's Day!  Still missing her every single day but I can say with certainty, my father would never have gone to New York City with us today if my mom were still here....always moving forward and always looking for silver linings.
