Here it is - the traditional last weekend of summer. We had some really beautiful weather to bid good-bye to this very strange summer...
Before we get to Labor Day, a few things to record! We snuck back up to Bah-Bah's one more time...
| Cam found another ladybug. Grandma Stanton has been around a lot during this trying time! |
| I also randomly had this feather stick to my windshield right in front of my eyes. I think she knows her daughter is struggling big time with the state of our schools right now. |
| Speaking of Grandma Stanton -- we ran into Great-Grandpa Carr at the diner! |
| I've gotten into kayaking with my friend, Sandy, and I had to test this bad-boy out before getting in real body of water! |
| My mother's headstone had gotten pretty green -- thanks to Amazon it's looking much better! |
The twins have been playing with our friend's children - they live "over the hill". This is me driving back to pick them up!
| And this was our ride home! |
We all headed "back to school". I am in school 5 days a week but teaching students in the Hybrid model. The twins are back to school but only on Tuesdays and Thursdays (also the Hybrid model). Michael is back to school but teaching from our kitchen as all of his classes are done on-line. Confused? Us too!
| We had a lovely sunrise on the first day of school....hoping for good things to come! |
The twins were so good at Miss Diane's that we had to stop for ice cream...still just the drive-thru is open but it's still the best ice cream around!
Cam is back playing Fall Ball. It feels so good to see kids up and moving and acting normally. They have to wear masks and kids can't sit in the dugouts. But at least they're not in front of a screen!!!

We got our Blue Light glasses in the mail since we know we're ALL going to be in front of a screen this year for WAY TOO MUCH TIME!!!
We've really enjoyed my butterfly refuge garden. We had 7 that transformed inside our house and many more that made it out in the wild!
So now onto Labor Day weekend. This is always a tough transition for the Rocc Flock because we have to transition from the fun of summer back into the crazy schedule of all of us heading back to school. This was especially challenging since last year's school year ended so abruptly in March. I think we were all very excited for a change of pace after 5 months.
I had the chance to sneak out Saturday morning and do a lovely 11 mile trek down the river with my friend, Sandy. She is also a teacher so it was good to be together -- fresh air and being on the water always helps stress levels!
We headed to Ringing Rocks. Mike and I had headed here many years ago and the twins were excited to check it out!
This was a VERY long time ago!!
We had some friends down for a little party....some of the kids got really involved with building a fort in our backyard!
And finally we spent a lovely afternoon at a nearby park. The twins are a bit sad about school -- no playground equipment, they miss their friends who go on the other days. However, they love their teacher and we'll keep taking things one day at a time.
| Mike and Cam did some practicing... |
| While Allie and I went riding! |
| So glad to see that this playground is at least open! |
| Allie got a little bit of coaching... |
| Cameron turned into a monkey. |
| Looking fierce! |
| Little more riding.... |
| Love these two to the moon and back. |
| Love this guy..... |
| Jumped in the creek to retrieve this treasure! |
And that's a wrap....welcome FALL!
