EGGSactly What I had Hoped For!

I am a planner, plain and simple.  I also have really big ideas that I always get super excited about and am determined to have happen just like I want them to.  So when Allie was sent home from school on Thursday with a 103 degree fever, I saw all of my plans disintegrating....however, little Allie was a trooper (and Tylenol and Benadryl are WONDERFUL!) and everything I had planned for Easter 2016 came to fruition!

First up was dying of the Easter Egg.  People - these kits have come a LONG way!  We opted for the tye-dye kit for this year's creations....

The excitement in the room was palpable.

Actual quote from Cameron, "I think this is going to be really fun, Mommy!"

"Yes!!!!!!!!"

"I just can't contain my excitement!!"

Politician Cameron having a very frank discussion on the policy of egg dying.

Daddy showing how it's done!

Future brain surgeon??

First one done - just beautiful!!

Another creation.....

Such concentration and a great fine motor skill activity!

And now the traditional "mixing together of all colors to make a really gross looking dye that ultimately makes brown eggs"!

Our 18 masterpieces!

"Yup, that was a darn good time, Momma!"

"Aw!  You weren't supposed to catch me eating an egg!"

"What egg?  I don't know what you're talking about..."

"No egg to see here either!"
SO the very next day, Allie was sent home sick from school....we had reservations to ride on the Bunny Train at Jim Thorpe for Friday and I was hopeful she would rally in order to make the trip.  It was touch and go for a bit but after hearing her tests results were negative for RSV and Flu, off we went!

"I haven't eaten real food in 24 hours because of this pesky virus I have but never fear!!!  Chocolate bunny feet are just the ticket!"

Feeling good!

All aboard!!

It was a very scenic ride...

....and a beautiful day!

The Easter bunny made a visit..

Allie says, "Ummm....nobody mentioned this was an Easter BUNNY train to ME!!!"

Cam was way brave and gave the big EB a high five.

I tried to convince Allie that standing next to a big, furry rabbit was actually very fun...

She didn't buy it..."Step off, rabbit."

Cameron was our look-out to see if the bunny would loop back around.

Special treat from the conductor!

"Now you're talking my language - give me that lollipop!"

Cameron says, "Mommy, enough with the camera."  Allie says, "Seriously lady, go hang out with the Easter Bunny or something."

Both of these boys loved it!
Awwww....so much more to share but we have to get on the road again.  Until then!
