I decided I was not going to let May 3 and May 8th be the two hardest days for me this year. The last 3 years, my birthday and Mother's Day have been absolutely excruciating. Not this year! I guess luckily or unluckily my spring concert fell on my birthday. There was no time to be sad when I was coordinating 200 singers! A and C also came along for the concert - they lasted 45 minutes and Mike said really liked it!

Next hurdle for me was Mother's Day. Mike and I had decided several months ago that we would head down to Wildwood to help me through this weekend. We invited our friends, the Pitcavages, along for the weekend. We were a little concerned in that they were calling for coastal flooding all weekend....but as we always say, life is always more fun at the beach - even if it is raining!
We headed south Friday around noon....rain, rain and MORE rain!!! We were excited to see some blue skies as we got closer to the ocean. The sun came out and the kids were SUPER excited to see each other again - great start to our weekend!
We decided to head down to the beach to check it out after dinner....lots of fun but VERY messy!

We decided to give the beach some time to dry out on Saturday before we tackled it again. We went for a quick surrey ride on the boardwalk which was really fun!

We then headed to the Cape May Zoo. This was wonderful -- everything was free and it was a beautiful spot! Highly recommend!

We then headed down to the beach after some much needed naps. Still pretty wet but at least we were able to get to the water's edge without too much difficulty!

Cameron had a slight run-in with a wave that really scared him. We got him all dried off and bundled up and he was much happier just playing in the sand.

Sunday morning broke bright and beautiful...WE WERE OFF TO THE BEACH FOR 5 GLORIOUS HOURS!!!
